The websites you visit on a daily basis represent only a small portion of the entire internet. The deep web exists beyond the surface web, and the dark web exists within the deep web.

Your bank's website is a deep web. Your Facebook Messenger is the deep web. Your Amazon account is on the deep web. Your credit card payment portal is located on the deep web. The main usage is anonymity. You don't want people snooping on your personal information now, do you?

What are the advantages of using the Deep Web? The same advantages that real-life locks have. They prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing private information. When you create a website where you want only people who have signed up to be able to view a specific page, that page will be considered as a 'Deep Web' page.

The Dark web is a part of the deep web where anonymity is enhanced. The details about your location or identity are not stored anywhere, which makes tracing you quite difficult. Some utilities of the dark web are:-

The dark web allows individuals to share their personal stories. Survivors of abuse, name their abusers and console their peers who would otherwise be uncomfortable discussing their abuse. It's similar to having a few pen pals all over the world that no one else is aware of.

Freedom

Some countries oppress their citizens based on arbitrary criteria such as sexual orientation or religion. The dark web allows people to form communities in a less heavily policed forum, where they can share tips and plan to meet up in person. They have the ability to report corruption and engage in other whistleblowing activities.

Literature

Access to books can also be restricted for a variety of reasons, and the dark web offers numerous opportunities to read doctored or completely prohibited books. The only way to get access to that literature is through the dark web.

Markets

The dark web provides access to illicit goods such as weapons, drugs, hitman services, and so on. However, who else would you turn to if you needed access for safety or a good cause? This activity is illegal by definition, but that does not preclude it from having "positive uses."

Even on the 'dark web,' there is always light somewhere.
